Hello SHBHU members, it’s Ambassador Tony and I have a few updates.

SHBHU Western NC Relief Effort
Thank you to everyone who has assisted in ANY WAY in the SHBHU Western NC Relief Effort.  We have had TONS of donations come in and all have been delivered to various partners with trucks and taken to Western NC. Thank you to all of the SHBHU members who have helped over the past weeks in delivering these items to the trucks. We will continue this effort throughout the year although needs are always changing. Please don’t hesitate to suggest ways that you hear may help best.  Updated donation list will be posted this weekend on the website and social media for the week of October 28th – November 1st. What we do know is they need these ASAP! Let us know if you can purchase and donate one of these heaters.

If any Ambassador Teens who are 16 or older and would like to volunteer with Samaritan’s Purse here is the link. CLICK HERE This organization has been doing amazing things there and need all the help they can get.

We are also discussing ways we can help the Black Mountain Home that was also devastated. You can learn more about what they provide for children on their website and facebook page. The landslide obliterated four of their buildings and severely damaged six more, including the dining hall, a staff member’s home, guest cabins, and recreation buildings.  Thankfully, none of the employees or children they care for were injured but they need a lot of love and support right now as well. They are collecting information for those who want to volunteer. Click HERE to sign up.

November Compassion Meeting!
Date and locations TBD.

Agenda:
  • Brainstorm on ways to best help Western NC Relief Effort Phase 2
